In the Community The Rotary Support Center for Families, operated by Family Services, had their groundbreaking on May 30th, across from our parking lot. See the foyer bulletin board “Neighborhood News” to read about the many services they will bring to the community, including homeless services and prevention, domestic violence intervention, and counseling services. Rainier Health and Fitness, which is a ministry of the Christian community development organization Urban Impact, is currently hiring a year-long, paid internship for young adults for one full-time or two half-time positions. See kiosk for more info. Michelle Lang & Still Water, Summer Concert ‘08, Sunday, July 20th, 6 PM at the Church By the Side of the Road, 3455 S 148th St, Tukwila. Hear this inspirational artist at this free event at Proctor’s new church. See kiosk. See how to support redress efforts for the 2200 Japanese Latin Americans, who were kidnapped and imprisoned by our government during WWII, yet were not offered redress thru the Civil Liberties Act of 1988. More info on kiosk or at www.campaignforjusticejla.org. Complimentary copies of the Wake Up America book are available at the deacons’ kiosk in the Fellowship Hall. SUMMER NIGHTS AT PRESBY This summer marks the debut of Summer Nights at Presby, July 21-25, 6-8:30 PM. Dinner served each night followed by worship and an entertaining drama to kick off our children’s program. Adults are welcome to socialize in the Fellowship Hall or attend an adult program on a variety of subjects ranging from estate planning to emergency preparedness. Our team is busy making this outreach to our neighboring community a reality, and we look forward to having our Presby family be a part of this fun and exciting week! Registration forms are available on our website at http://jpresby.org. For questions regarding this event, please contact Marian Natsuhara or Ellen Young. The men are helping with the dinner preparations each night. Help is still needed on Tuesday, Wednesday, and especially Thursday (Mark Yamamoto is Thursday’s head chef).
