Praise God! We are now at $242,460 in gifts and pledges received for Building 2 Houses for Jesus Capital Campaign.  If you requested offering envelopes or would like envelopes, they’re available in the Fellowship Hall. You may start using these envelopes at any time. Questions? Want to make a contribution? See a Capital Campaign member: Benson Wong, Joan Hoshino, Mark Terayama, Ann Sakaguchi, Nancy Hasegawa.

“Ai Concert” Nihongo Outreach, featuring Duo Takase, a violin/piano and vocal team, on Wednesday July 15th, 7 PM (doors open 6:30 PM). Invite your Japanese speaking friends and family. See Makiko Taya for info.

Mens Ministry - Save these dates! Friday through Sunday, October 9th - 11th, 2009 for the 3rd Annual Men’s Retreat. Our theme this year comes from I Peter 1:16: “Be Holy, Because I am Holy” with speaker: Pastor Wayne Ogimachi of Lighthouse Christian Church. Begin to pray now for how God will use Pastor Wayne and the men of Presby.

Housekeeping question: do you have any of Presby’s tablecloths at home? We are missing a few of our green tablecloths. Thanks.

The Lord’s Table is the homeless meal ministry of Kay Abe. Presby serves the first Tuesday of the month. Next: July 7th. Cooking at Presby 6 PM; serving downtown 8-9 PM. Info: Randal Taira, Michael Kunugiyama.

Operation Nightwatch Meal ministry, always the 29th and 30th of each month. See Andy or Wendy Saiki to help prep food and serve (high school and up).

During the library transition, we will not be accepting donations of books, DVDs, CDs, etc. Thanks for all your past donations! Thank you to Cindy Shimasaki and Suzie Yamamoto for volunteering to take over the library duties!

Presbyterian Women: There is still time to register for the Presbyterian Women’s Churchwide Gathering, July 11-15, 2009 at the Convention Center in Louisville, Kentucky. Registration will be subsidized by the Presby PW ($430). The theme is: “God Will Do Wonders Among You!” Workshops, Convocations, Inspiring worship and Bible Study all reflect this theme. See May Matsuoka or June Nishimura (Mrs) for registration and/or more information. [website]

Here’s an opportunity to support the PW’s mission efforts: Donate a $20 gift card from a national retailer (eg Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, K-Mart, etc). PW will give these cards to the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and Bellewood Presbyterian Homes for Children. This direct and flexible use of spending power offers a way to provide what is needed quickly in times of emergency and for specific needs of individuals. Donations will be accepted until Sunday July 10th by May Matsuoka and Helen Christ. Helen will bring them to the PW Churchwide Gathering.

Dear Presbyterian Women:

Thank you for your recent donation of $200 to Habitat for Humanity, which I forwarded to the affiliate in Bay-Waveland, Mississippi, for their on-going restoration efforts. Thank you, also, for supporting Mike Shimasaki and I in our participation in the blitz build in Bay St. Louis for the young couple who wanted to move back "home" after Hurricane Katrina turned their lives upside down.

Blessings to you all as you continue to give to God's mission in the world!
